About Our Hydrocolloid Fibre-baths
Why Fibre-Rich Bathing Matters
A different way to care for skin — one that starts in the water.
A spa-like bathing experience, from the comfort of your home.
Modern bathing often strips the skin: foaming agents, harsh surfactants, and synthetic thickeners that cleanse aggressively but leave skin tight and depleted.
Our hydrocolloid bath teas take a different approach.
Instead of washing the skin, we feed the bathwater with naturally occurring soluble and insoluble botanical fibres — creating a soft, conditioning environment that supports the skin’s natural comfort and balance.

Soluble & Insoluble Fibres: Nature’s Skin Allies
🌿 Soluble botanical fibres
Found in ingredients like plantain, linseed, marshmallow root, psyllium husk, and inulin, soluble fibres gently dissolve during steeping.
In warm water, they:
• Release plant mucilage and polysaccharides
• Bind water and create a silky, cushioning feel
• Form light, breathable films that help skin feel hydrated and soothed
🌾 Insoluble botanical fibres
Present in oat bran, seeds, roots, barks, and whole botanicals, insoluble fibres don’t dissolve — but they play an equally important role.
They:
• Act as natural carriers for botanical actives
• Support a slow, gentle release of plant compounds
• Add body and structure to the infusion without abrasion
Together, soluble and insoluble fibres create a bath that feels soft, enveloping, and skin-friendly — not foamy, not stripping.

Our Hydrocolloid Complex: Where Water Meets Innovation
At the heart of our bath teas is a carefully balanced hydrocolloid complex, formed naturally during steeping.
This complex comes from:
• Plant mucilage (from seeds, roots, and leaves)
• Soluble fibres (such as inulin and psyllium)
• A microbial-derived polysaccharide used to gently structure liquids
What happens in the bath?
As the bath tea steeps:
• Fibres hydrate and swell
• Botanical compounds disperse evenly
• A soft, fluid network forms in the water
This creates a subtle, knitted-like hydrocolloid matrix — invisible to the eye, but felt on the skin.

A Gentle “Second Skin” Effect
Rather than sitting on the surface or rinsing away instantly, the hydrocolloid network:
• Helps keep beneficial plant compounds evenly suspended
• Allows the bathwater to cling lightly to the skin
• Leaves skin feeling comforted, cocooned, and balanced
The result is not a coating or residue — but a momentary soft wrap, similar to how a lightweight botanical gel behaves, without synthetic thickeners or occlusive films.

Why This Matters for Skin Comfort
This fibre-based bathing approach is especially suited for skin that feels:
• Dry or tight after bathing
• Easily overwhelmed by foaming products
• Sensitive to over-cleansing
• In need of comfort rather than stimulation
Our bath teas don’t aim to “treat” the skin.
They simply create a more intelligent bathing environment — one that respects the skin’s natural structure.

Steeped, Not Synthesised
• No surfactants
• No artificial foaming agents
• No synthetic fragrance clouds
Just whole botanicals, plant fibres, and time.
Because sometimes the most effective care begins by slowing the water down.

FIBREIN
How to Use the Fibre-Bath
Each product includes a lint-free mesh bag. Fill the bag with your desired amount of fibre-bath and steep it in hot water for 10–15 minutes to allow the fibres to swell and form a gel-like infusion.
As it steeps, take a moment to slow down and let the day soften. Pour the mixture into a filled bathtub and gently squeeze the bag to release the fibres into the water, taking care as the contents may still be hot.
Step in, breathe deeply, and allow the bath to become a quiet space of relaxation and renewal.
Breathe. Let go. Relax.
How Much Should I Use?
Each fibre-bath can be enjoyed as a rich, full single bath or divided into up to four portions for lighter bathing experiences. Simply adjust the amount used to suit your preference and the depth of experience you’d like to create.
How Often Can I Use It?
The fibre-bath is gentle enough to be used regularly and can be enjoyed as often as you like. Many customers use it weekly as a ritual bath, while others incorporate it into their routine several times a week depending on preference and lifestyle.
What is hydrocolloid fibre-bath?
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Our bath teas are formulated with a focus on gentleness, simplicity, and skin comfort. They are made without foaming agents, synthetic fragrances, essential oils, or harsh cleansers, and instead rely on whole botanicals, hydrocolloids, and plant fibres that infuse the bathwater softly.
Many of the ingredients used in our blends are traditionally appreciated for their soothing and skin-conditioning properties, and the fibre-rich infusion helps create a bathing environment that feels less stripping than conventional bath products.
That said, every skin is unique. If you have very sensitive or reactive skin, we recommend:
Using a smaller amount for the first bath
Shortening the soak time
Discontinuing use if any discomfort occurs
Our products are designed to support skin comfort, not to treat or prevent skin conditions.
Is your packaging biodegradable?
Not entirely — and that choice is intentional.
Our packaging approach is guided by circular economy principles, which prioritise reuse and recycling first, before biodegradability. While biodegradable and bio-based materials can sound like the most sustainable option, current evidence shows that many of these materials do not reliably break down in real-world conditions and may fragment into microplastics instead.
For this reason, we avoid using biodegradable or bio-based plastics for our pouches at this time. These materials often require industrial composting facilities that are not widely available, and when they enter conventional waste streams, they can contaminate recycling or persist in the environment.
Instead, we focus on materials that:
Can be recycled within existing systems
Keep resources in circulation rather than downcycling them
Offer predictable, measurable end-of-life pathways
Here’s how this applies across our packaging:
Outer boxes are fully recyclable and designed for standard paper recycling.
Product pouches are recyclable, allowing the material to remain in circulation rather than fragmenting into persistent waste.
Lint-free mesh bags are intended for single use, but they can be reused or repurposed. When they reach the end of their life, they can be disposed of with general waste.
Organic cotton mesh bags are made from natural fibres and are fully compostable.
Used bath tea contents are entirely plant-based and can be composted, similar to food or garden residues.
We actively monitor developments in biodegradable and bio-based materials and will adopt them as soon as there is robust evidence that they break down safely, do not contribute to microplastic pollution, and work within real waste-management systems.
Sustainability, for us, is not about choosing what sounds best — it’s about choosing what actually works.
When will I get my order?
We offer two shipping options, so you can choose what works best for you.
1. Green Shipping (lower-cost, consolidated dispatch)
A lower-impact shipping option. We cover part of the shipping cost to support more sustainable delivery choices.
With our green shipping option, orders are dispatched once shipments reach a full load. Consolidating shipments helps improve transport efficiency and can reduce the CO₂ impact per parcel compared to sending individual orders as they come in.
This option may take a little longer — orders are usually shipped within up to 5-7 working days — and is offered at a lower price. If you’re comfortable waiting a bit longer, this option supports a more sustainable way of shipping.
2. Standard Shipping (faster dispatch)
A faster dispatch option. Orders are shipped from our warehouse within 2–3 days. This option carries a higher shipping cost compared to our Green Shipping.
If you’d prefer your order to ship sooner, this shipping option is available for you. Orders are dispatched more quickly, with faster delivery times, while maintaining the same careful packing standards.
We aim to be transparent about how your order is shipped, so you can make an informed choice that suits your needs.
What is the shelf life of your bath teas?
Each bath tea has a shelf life of 24 months from the date of packaging, which is clearly indicated on the product.
Once opened, the product may gradually absorb moisture from the surrounding air. For this reason, we recommend transferring it to an airtight container immediately after opening and using it within 6 months to maintain optimal quality, aroma, and performance.
Store in a cool, dry place away from humidity and direct sunlight.
